STN is committed to both communication and collaboration as key values of the organization, and these values regularly guide all employees across every aspect of STN’s program work. As such, the job duties outlined in all STN position descriptions are expected to honor the following components:
- Active Participation: All STN team members are expected to attend and contribute meaningfully to all assigned team and program meetings. This means sharing ideas, insights, wisdom, and expertise openly, positively, and constructively. This also means staff members actively welcome the perspectives of others and listen for genuine consideration of all ideas.

All staff are responsible for keeping the larger team informed on relevant updates and decisions as related to program activities and assignments, especially in regard to areas of collaboration. STN strives to maximize community impact, and part of that quest means the organization actively works to dismantle siloed work. Though each staff member may be hired for a specific program or initiative, every person on the team can and should expect to collaborate across the larger team’s efforts. STN expects staff to work across programs and to identify and build creative avenues for teaming.
- Accountability: All STN staff members are accountable to the STN as an organization, STN leadership and fellow colleagues, the families and community(s) served through STN resources and activities, STN clients, customers, funders, as well as the broader Spokane Tribal community at-large.
