The work of IBJ in eastern Washington is a collaborative effort among three organizations (STN, həłmxiłp IBJ, and x̌aʔx̌aʔ IBJ) to build a team of individuals who understand and honor IBJ history and values. Working together towards a common goal, this team focuses on creating a future that upholds the values of Indigenous peoples.
Indigenous Birth Justice Center’s Journey to a Forever Home
In 2023, həłmxiłp IBJ and STN opened the IBJ Center with a birth equity grant from the Washington State Department of Health.
With an expanded center our hope is to expand our services and impact on our local community as well as have capacity to accommodate the frequent partnership requests, we're fielding. Ownership of our IBJ Center would allow for stability, asset building, and redirection of funds back into programming and community.
Ideally our forever home would be an asset that we own and would reflect what the community has asked for in the data referenced in this PDF.
